About our intensive driving courses

Welcome to Ashland Driver Training School (ADTS.UK)

Our focus is to provide driver training to help people to stay safe on UK roads. We know that safe drivers will pass a practical driving test, which is why our pass rate is high. We also help people that have been driving for a long time, however an event or lapse in driving has made them feel more venerable. The age range is from 11 to 82 years of age. Our senior driving instructor at one stage was helping young drivers. This was on private land to prepare them for 17 years of age.

We only conduct intensive driving courses. Alan our senior driving instructor was trained in the armed forces, preparing  new recruits for a  career in driving.

We do, however after an intensive driving course provide more time if needed.

Are intensive driving courses for everyone?

No is the answer to that question.

Some people need more time to process the skills they are learning. An intensive driving course pushes you to take on training in a more intense way.

Although exhilarating and  providing a huge feeling of achievement, it is intensive. Having a positive attitude will greatly improve your chance of success. Are you ready to make a change CLICK HERE

Manual or Automatics

This is a very important choice, and leaves people in limbo as to which to choose.

If you are applying for a job in certain fields for example Amazon delivery driver. The chances are at the moment you will need to be able to drive manual and automatic vehicles. If you pass your driving test in a manual car, you will still be able to drive an automatic.

Passing your driving test in an Automatic car  restricts you to automatics only. Automatic cars are less stressful however, and are particularly helpful for students with neurological issues, ie Dyspraxia. The transportation industry is constantly changing. Automatic transmissions are so much more popular now and not as expensive to run as they previously were.

How much more popular are they?

when doing a search on one of the biggest motor factor sales platforms in the UK.

The split was

Automatic cars for sale 269,000

Manual cars for sale 155,000

The automatic cars are likely to be newer vehicles, which explains the change in car manufacturing techniques, also the increase in Electric Vehicle sales.
Has this helped you make a decision on the training vehicle you would like to use. The good news is we offer driver training on both vehicle types. We have, however seen a distinct change to automatic transmissions recently.
